New Paths Music’s new education and mentoring scheme is announced today
We are extremely excited today to announce the launch of Voyagers, our unique one-year programme for talented and ambitious teenage musicians in and around the East Riding of Yorkshire.
The Voyagers scheme is designed for a small number of carefully selected musicians: enthusiastic, motivated teenagers working at a high level. Combining tuition, apprenticeship and mentoring, this valuable programme features workshops, performance opportunities, one-to-one sessions and advice. Whether you’re looking to finesse your performing skills, tackle performance anxiety, develop a detailed area of technique, seek advice about next steps of studying, or just have fun making music with inspiring and brilliant people, we can help.
Our New Paths musicians regularly perform all over the globe, compose for the grandest occasions, teach in the most prestigious conservatoires – but they also care passionately about helping the next generation develop. Between them they have an incredible wealth of real live performing experience, expert knowledge, inspiring creativity, and wide-ranging contacts – and they would like to share that with the young people in and around the East Riding.
We are proud that participation in this scheme is completely free of charge and believe passionately in the importance of nurturing and inspiring talented young musicians in the region regardless of means. Perhaps some of our Voyagers will become the professional performers of tomorrow – but, whatever path they take, the transferable skills these young people build will be invaluable in life: presentation skills, confidence, teamwork, goal setting, creative thinking and more.
Further details of the programme and application process can be found on our Voyagers page. Applications close on Friday 6th June.
