A Bach pilgrimage
Celebrated Norwegian cellist Jonathan Aasgaard leads us on a special journey through the complete cello suites of JS Bach. Each is presented in a different space and each offers a different insight into the human condition. A special chance to hear this music in its entirety: immerse yourself in extraordinary beauty.
Seventh heaven
Beethoven’s Septet for winds and strings forms the climax of our Saturday programme: this serene serenade will be performed by a handpicked team of outstanding chamber musicians.
Stories & ballads
The ancient mariner whose sailors were cursed; the sisters whose rivalry went wrong; the visitation from a dead friend late at night…. Epic tales vivdly told in music are woven through the programme.

We’ve repeated only a handful of pieces in our entire first decade, but this year we reprise music and artists that have formed part of the journey so far. Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time, Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring, Beach’s Piano Quartet, and many more.
Cutting edge research
Song through time and round the world features in two fascinating research-led events on Thursday: we welcome esteemed academics Natasha Loges and Emma Dillon, who explore the echoes of human experience across time and place.
Beverley musicians
Musicians with local connections appear throughout the programme: from celebrated soprano Claire Booth to researcher Prof Emma Dillon, and from pianist Amy Butler to three of Beverley’s own choirs, it’s clear that Beverley really is a place of music.
Next generation
Local talented young musicians on our Voyagers scheme perform on Saturday, and students from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire compete for the Dame Gillian Weir Messiaen Prize on Friday. For the youngest of audiences, our popular Baby and Toddler concert returns!
Dance the night away
You don’t have to sit still when you’re listening – put on your dancing shoes and join in our Saturday night ceilidh!

A starry lineup of singers includes mezzo-soprano Kitty Whately, tenor Caspar Singh, soprano Claire Booth, and baritones Marcus Farnsworth and Stephan Loges.
Merry-go-round
Join us for a whole day of music celebrating Beverley as a musical town! Our musical merry-go-round draws together New Paths artists, professionals with local connections, community groups, and the next generation of performers, all making music in concerts and pop-ups right across the town. Many events are free – come to one or come to all!
