New Paths Collective hits the road

To celebrate 10 years of New Paths Music, we are taking the show on the road! The birthday tour begins in September with a series of rush-hour performances in London’s Bechstein Hall, which pair song cycles by Britten (who died 50 years ago this year) with major instrumental sonatas.

The collective comprises exceptional artists who perform at the festivals in Beverley. During our first decade, thousands of festivalgoers have travelled to the East Riding to hear these amazing musicians. The tour will be a chance for us to share the New Paths magic with even more people in other parts of the country – starting in the capital. Don’t miss these special concerts when they come to Marylebone on 8th & 10th September 2026.

Voyagers scheme: the ship sails on

New Paths Music is seeking its second cohort of Voyagers – outstanding young musicians from in and around the East Riding of Yorkshire. Applications are now open!

This unique one-year scheme for talented and ambitious teenage musicians combines tuition, performance experience and mentoring. Over their year as Voyagers our first group of young musicians have built confidence and skills, performed in two New Paths festivals, received tuition from professors at the Royal Academy of Music and Guildhall School of Music, and formed friendships with other young people sharing their interests.

Autumn festival: 2026 programme announcement

We are thrilled to release the programme for this year’s Autumn Festival.

Our 10th anniversary celebrations continue with this banquet of music served up by 20 exceptional artists.  Late September is a special time of the year to be in Beverley: the elegant streets of its Georgian quarter are carpeted with conkers, and the trees on the Westwood (one of the country’s great urban commons) turn burnished gold.  Join us in this gem of a town after the summer for a feast of chamber music, song, and more.

Some serious talent will be gathering in the East Riding for the occasion:

Public booking opens on Monday 11th May. To take advantage of our early booking period before then, why not join our Friends & Patrons scheme, supporting the activities of New Paths?

We hope you enjoy browsing the musical treats which lie in store for September. We cannot wait to see you in beautiful Beverley then.

A 10th birthday to remember

Spring Festival programme announced

We are thrilled to release the programme for this year’s Spring Festival. Marking the 10th birthday of New Paths Music, this is an action-packed programme celebrating Beverley as a place of music, and looking back on our first decade.

Voyagers continue their journey

The young musicians on our Voyagers scheme enjoyed an inspiring workshop day led by saxophonist Christian Forshaw and Artistic Director Libby Burgess. Focussing on performance skills, communication and technical confidence, the young people learned from each other as well as the tutors, and all came away full of new ideas!

The New Paths Voyagers is a small group of advanced young musicians in the East Riding and surrounding area: across the year that they are on the scheme they receive coaching, mentoring and performance opportunities, and become a valued part of the New Paths family.

Voyagers: young musicians announced

New Paths is delighted to have accepted six talented young musicians from in and around the East Riding onto its inaugural Voyagers scheme. Congratulations to:

The Voyagers will be performing in our upcoming festival, and will receive coaching from New Paths artists throughout the year. We look forward to getting to know you!
